who would you really like to get to know?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 02, 2009:
You.
I'd like to get to know you, the creature sitting on the other side of the screen reading these words that were drummed out in haste by some obviously-earlier version of me.
I'd like to know what you're thinking now, and where you'll be going after your online respite is over, and what you're looking forward to. I'd like to know what you're concerned about and what regrets you've suffered in your life. I'd like to know what you need most, and what you want, and what it is you're here to give. I'd like to know where you're sitting as you read this, and what's scattered around you, and I'd like to know what connects you--what shared thread there is--with all the other 'yous' of this entry, past and present and future.
And yes, I suppose it doesn't matter; I'm not sure any human being can fully know another. Still, we can try, and still I suppose there's some delight to be had in this, that the quest for understanding can never be totally complete.

Help

Siona -
Gotcha! I know that we can't give seeds to you on your profile page, but I was able to dump them on you here by hitting the “I Endorse This” button as many times as it would allow me to.
Wonderful blog entry - thank you.

Don't you just love that there is always more to life, to living, to this thing that we get to participate in as “experience”? You are a delight! And thanks Laurie for that piece of information. I, too, shall deposit some seeds here. Not only do I endorse this blog, but you Siona. ;-D
me, too! me, too! I try to never miss a day on Gaia so I hope that tells you what I need in my life: you and all the wonderful people who gravitate here.
So you'd like to know about me, huh, Siona? I am thinking that you're absolutely priceless! :-)
nice thoughts :)
My essay is in the mail, and of course you will do the same for me! (Just kidding.)
Wow, what can I say. You are such an intriguing person, Siona. I so admire this “people” perspective, as it's different from my usual “ideas” perspective.
You are warm and wonderful, and I am learning a lot from who you are.
Lavish hugs,
OM Bastet

Siona,
Your nurturing and guiding spirit help us to know ourselves better each day, there aren't words to express our gratitude for finding you. You are here everyday prepared to bring us out, embracing who we are and overseeing our unity. Very Goddess like indeed! We all love you beyond words…..
A – blinking – MEN, Jeannie. You said the words I couldn't find. Siona is Goddess-like indeed for us, and we all love her beyond words….
Now if we could only REALLY touch through cyberspace to feed that hunger we all have and that is never satiated….
Love, OM

Well, I am sure that no human can fully know another, and I am also sure that I can never fully know myself. Though learning itself is an undying passion for me, I'd just say… understand in moderation. All things in moderation. To understand is enough… to say “I understand” may be too much. I feel there is no one there to understand, and no one there to be understood. There is someone there, which you have so eloquently expressed, but there is also no one there. I am such an ephemeral being. All I trust myself to do at this point is to learn, each step of the way.
Ikeda-sensei, Aikido master, said during class the other day (paraphrased), “No rank. Rank doesn't matter. Only right now matters. Anyone can find unity right here in front of you. Just look.”
Hey, I just wrote a blog entry that may be of some interest here. I thought of your entry, Siona, as I wrote it:
How would I want the world (you) to know me?
You have read my statement of ethical philosophy and that seems to sum me up enough. But here is another statement:
I have been asked by several people what the meaning of the avatar that I normally use is and where it came from. Here’s my explanation:
I actually created this symbol when I was about twelve or thirteen years old because I wanted something that could represent me and nothing else. Later, I also thought it could represent my family as well.
The colors of the symbol, red, white, and blue, are the same as those of the American flag, representing my love for American values as stated in the U.S. Constitution. Those colors are also found in the British and French flags as well, BTW. The H stands for my family name, Husband, and its blue represents the inner peace I wish to have. The red circle represents courage and honor and my determination to stand up for my enlightened beliefs against those who live in darkness. The white background represents the purity of my motives.
Seems the quest is never ending and yet always beginning.
