where do you find meaning?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for June 14, 2009:
Do I? This was, I'm realizing, a presumptuous question. I'm not sure I find meaning; sometimes I feel more as though I create it, and some days, I feel, I'm better at doing this than others.
And this, I'm realizing, is a presumptuous answer. Create meaning! It's true, though--I weave it from the warp of the world and the woof of experience using the shuttle of language and words, just as you do, and just as human beings have always done.
Of course, though, my own little patch of fabric is worthless on its own. What I love is sometimes stepping back to see how it fits in the tapestry of the whole. Where do I find meaning...
... here, I suppose.

Help

LOL…do we find meaning, or does it find us? or, is it just a story we tell? *shrugs*…much love and joy, always, star…
The thought occurred to me in what do I find most meaning - love springs to mind, and yes there is a lot here, hugs.
I thinking we both find it and create it. You have really created some great stuff here, Siona! ;-D
Hi, Siona - I think of meaning in terms of words and communication - so what does my life communicate? At its best - perhaps hope, compassion, caring, healing, transformation of injustice. And what is my life's purpose? To be a healing presence - with and for myself and others.
love and blessings -

Siona,
What was an absolutely beatiful way of describing how most everyone “finds” meaning! I agree completely that I must create meaning in my life before I can find it. Where I create meaning is a result of my free will: where is my focus? The “finding of meaning” must be an intentional process for me. I have found that if I allow myself to operate on “autopilot”, meaning is tragically lost.
Love,
Serenity
