what do you want to say 'yes' to?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for April 30, 2008:
Everything. :)
My favorite story about 'yes' comes from, of all people, John Lennon.
He met his second wife,Yoko Ono, at the debut exhibit of Ceiling Painting at the Indica Gallery in London.
It was an interactive piece; visitors were invited to climb a white ladder up to the ceiling of the gallery, and then use a magnifying glass to look read a small inscription painted on white canvas. Lennon described what it was like to clamber awkwardly to the top of the ladder, pick up the magnifying class, and peer upwards at one tiny word:
I love that message. And it's funny... I wrote last week that the world was saying, I love you, but I'm beginning to think that's not quite it. The world, to me, is saying yes. And I want to say yes right back.

This is such a beautiful story to illustrate your answer to your question :)I would say ” Yes” if i received an invitation to such exhibition!
saying yes to it all… yes
I think the world is always saying yes and so we have to be a little careful of the conversation we start.
I love these posts of yours lately.
That story gave me shivers, Siona. I've never heard it before. Thank you.
I have a relationship with that three letter word, too. I've written it on my body. I've left scraps of paper around my house bearing just that word. I have noticed that “no” is often a reflex to stay “safe.” And safe is good, of course, but sometimes it's a prison.
Yes.
Except when I pass the dog adoption place in Utah. That is the place I want to say yes and yes and I say no:-) I love that saying yes is easier than saying no in our bodies. I think if one was connected up to a brain scan the no would light up more stress places than the yes. Yes is like breathing and no is like holding one's breath
Take a breath Siona. There…you've said yes once again. Thank you.
Oh dear. I wrote that and then noticed the last line in your mom's comment. Ummm… reinforcement?
Isn't that story fabulous? I love it too. I went down and hunted down Lennon's later reflection on it:
“It was positive. It's a great relief when you get up the ladder and you look through the spyglass and it doesn't say no or fuck you; it says YES… That 'YES' made me stay.”
I think the YES is what makes all of us stay. Like breathing.
(And I also think when you say no to the dogs you're saying yes to something else. Maybe they're all just barking YES! at you?)
This so affected me (along with a couple of other synchronicities) that I ended up blogging on it today and mentioned your blog there. I'll have to go back and insert the link (I wasn't for sure where I read it, when I was writing and had to go look this up)
