should human cloning be allowed?

did you ever read the Calvin and Hobbes series where Calvin has cloned himself and the mayhem that ensued. he couldn’t make his copy go to school for him. the clone kept getting the original into trouble, refused to heel. :-)

how does that work?  is there a whole person cloned and then we take the eye or the arm and dispose of the rest?  or keep the “extra Siona” asleep all the time just in case the “real” Siona needs a part?  kinda sounds too creepy and unfair.  Would the clone be the same person – nature vs nurture?  brain chemistry is somewhat dependent on experiences isn't it?  what if the clone didn't grow to be exactly the same size as the original – they say our environments have a great deal to do with our height for example? 

I don't know much about this. 

But I too plan to live a very long life.  I used to say 107, then I started saying 137, now I say AT LEAST 150.  and I just had a corneal transplant (just before my 36th birthday) from a cadaver, so I am already impressed with medical science and indebted to it and the donor.

If you know more of the actual science and possibilities and ideas out there for ethical guidelines related to cloning, I'd LOVE to hear more.
